19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden championship for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has endured a difficult period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-time coach Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.
This represents his initial championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface from spring of that year.
Success also means the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to win a title is really nice," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive play style and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused observers to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.
Yet the player has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and play aggressively, supported by an better service.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional championship, took control to create a final set.
Moutet saved four initial chances in a competitive final set before the champion broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to control a return after a lengthy match.
