The Former President's System of Retribution and Reward

Donald Trump's voracious urge for payback has swiftly evolved into a structured system. Over the twelve months, the leader's fury and caprices have adopted the guise of administrative measures in ways comparable to historical repressive systems. Federal personnel who do not cooperate are promptly removed and replaced by devotees. Political figures who confront him risk prosecution, court proceedings and punishment. Adversaries have been categorized under presidential memoranda as “anti-American”, “anti-Christian” and “opposing economic freedom”, and threatened with legal action as “terrorists”.

Federal Agencies Remade

All instance involving targeting of critics and immunity for loyalists demonstrates its own distinct features. However, regardless of their specific character, they represent expressions of what has developed as a systematic approach. Those incidents are far from random. Trump's removal of federal lawyers and FBI agents, coupled with his placement of devotees in high-level roles, began rapidly, quickly assumed a pattern, and has now been molded into a regime. DoJ and the Federal Bureau have been transformed into political agencies under Trump's direct command to carry out his wishes. Unfairness has been rendered standard. It represents the apparatus of revenge.

Management is more concerned with punishing the President's alleged enemies than they are with defending our country's safety.

Internal the Structure

The origin of this system has been revealed in the legal complaint of three ex- senior FBI agents filed in September in the US district court in DC against FBI director an administration figure and justice department head another official for illegal termination in “a campaign of revenge against them for what administration figures judged to be a refusal to demonstrate proper devotion”. According to the filing that a former acting director, the former temporary head, describes a discussion in which Patel “openly acknowledged the illegality of his actions”.

Driscoll had attempted to defend agency personnel from being fired, the complaint states. Patel informed him that “White House figures” – interpreted by Driscoll to be the White House and federal prosecutors – had directed him to remove all those who they considered as having been involved in a legal probe against Trump. The document continues: “The director clarified that he had to dismiss the people his superiors told him to fire, because his capacity to retain his own job relied on the ouster of the personnel who handled cases involving the President. He noted that there was no way he or Driscoll could do to halt these or any other dismissals, because ‘the agency attempted to incarcerate the President in detention and he remembers.’” After he told the director he was violating the agency's own regulations, he allegedly said “he knew that and he was aware the essence of the swift terminations were almost certainly unlawful”.

Broad Effects

Since Patel's reported acknowledgment to the official, the justice department and the Federal Bureau have been dismantled and redirected for the administration's revenge apparatus. Several of the agency's high-ranking agents were fired or pushed out in the first days of the presidency. About 4,500 legal professionals at DoJ have taken a “voluntary departure plan”. A minimum of several government attorneys, including those in the Manhattan division, stepped down in dissent over what they considered as ideological pressure in dropping the criminal prosecution against the New York City mayor, a political figure, in return for his assistance with his federal agency arrests of immigrants. The anti-corruption unit of the department, which manages misconduct investigations, has been reduced to minimal staff. The rights protection unit has been devastated: the majority of its employees has departed. A third of executives at the department have quit. The section upholding ecological regulations has lost 50% its leadership.

Incentives and Sanctions

In the Adams case, the temporary lawyer for the federal division, Danielle Sassoon, stepped down in protest against what she characterized as the “quid pro quo”. A key figure, Trump's “immigration leader,” appeared as the implementer with Adams on a media outlet to state: “Unless he complies, I'll be back in NYC.”. Meanwhile, Emil Bove, earlier the senior DoJ official and a ex-lawyer, who negotiated the agreement, was granted an appellate federal judgeship, a likely stepping stone to the highest court.

The president's immunity for wrongdoings committed while in office, provided by the remarkable judgment of the GOP-led on the highest court, thus blocking his prosecution over the political violence and maintaining his electoral prospects for the 2024 election, is the foundation stone on which he depends to defend his stalwarts. With such immunity, he has been freed to enable corruption. The consequence of the court judgment permeates his administration and the GOP thoroughly. The court matter has escalated. As Richard Nixon's legal adviser the figure commented about the Watergate
